Community Links & Partnerships

Building collective capacity through community links & partnerships to support school engagement for all.

We are grateful to many community organisations and educational institutions which provide invaluable support to the NCESE partner schools.

These partnerships have translated into many tangible benefits such as streamlined access to services for students and families in our NCESE partner schools, appropriate educational pathways for vulnerable students transitioning into the secondary system, high-quality professional development or wellbeing supports for our NCESE educators and opportunities to refine our reflective practice and evaluation practices.

NCESE Governance

The NCESE is governed and led by a Steering Committee that represents participating NCESE schools, the Department of Education and Training (Vic), BGCS and other relevant community groups. The Steering Committee is primarily practitioner led – ie, partners will co-design agendas, chair meetings, and work to contribute to NCESE resources and outputs. The Committee also has access to input from the broader community as needed.

The core work of the NCESE and Project REAL are informed by policy guidance from relevant government departments, including the Victorian Department of Education and Training, and we seek to explore and maximise our potential impact on relevant policy areas. Due to our significant DET funding, we also provide quarterly reports to DET, and to our Steering Committee.

In addition to active support from government, the NCESE also receives philanthropic support from a variety of community organisations, to whom we report on a regular basis.
